Abstract : Saudi Arabia in the last four decades has made immense progress in economic and education and health standards in the process of transition from reliance on oil industry to a diversified and knowledge – based economy. One of the many efforts of emphasized on manpower investment is the Herfah women cooperative association of Buraidah. The study looks at the artisans and family producing women to better understand serve and further the local crafts. The study used a sample of its registered members and surveyed factors relating to socioeconomic status and poverty, health, and new working pattern of the cooperative association. The results indicate the study group to be of mid adulthood age group with a low income level receiving government and non-government aid. They are mostly married and their family size is similar to that of the of the country. They also share with their husbands a greater responsibility of the economic burden. The cooperative members stand to benefit more from an improved supply of raw material, use of improved resources, training, and marketing networks.
