Abstract : Seven coordinate complexes of [MI2(CO)(NCMe)(Tj2 -EtC2Me)2] (M=Mo, W) with equivalent of 1,1 O-phenanthroline (1,1 O-phen) in CH2Ch at room temperature gave two kinds of complexes depends on the type of metal. In Case of Molybdenum a neutral complex [MoI2(CO)(1, I O-phenanthroline)(Tj2-EtC2Me)](1 )was obtained while in the Case of Tungsten a Cationic complex [WI(CO)(1,IOphenanthroline)(Tj2-EtC2Me)2] I. (2) produced. Electronic absorption spectra of [M(CO)4] (phen) showed a strong band in the visible region Spectrum, due to metal -+ligand charge transfer (MLCT)M -+ phen and or M-+ COax charactered by a highly molar absorptivity.
